Changping Village, Jiezhou Town, Yanhu District, Yuncheng City, is the birthplace of the famous general of the Three Kingdoms and the martial saint Guan Gong. In the third year of the Yanxi reign of the Eastern Han Dynasty (160 AD), Guan Gong was born here on the 24th day of the sixth lunar month. Guan Gong lived in his hometown for 19 years, and with a chivalrous heart, he killed the local bully Lv Xiong, who oppressed the people. After that, he left his hometown. The Guandi Family Temple covers an area of 35 acres and is constructed using a central axis symmetrical palace layout with front and rear bedrooms. It has undergone generations of repairs, and most of the existing buildings have been preserved from the Ming and Qing dynasties to this day. In 2006, the Guandi Family Temple was selected as the sixth batch of national key protected units. In 2012, it was included in the World Cultural Heritage Reserve along with the Guandi Ancestral Temple Scenic Area in Jiezhou.
